"The Board of Immigration Appeals was closed July 2-3, 2012, due to extreme weather conditions in the Washington, DC, area. On this occasion, the Board will apply a temporary "grace period" for the following filings:

(1) If it is clear, or the Board believes, that a filing would have been timely but for the weather emergency, the filing will be treated as timely. There is no need to request special consideration or supplement your filing if it was received by Thursday, July 5, 2012.

(2) If the Board rejects your filing as untimely but it would have been timely but for the weather-related problems in metro DC, then promptly resubmit your filing with documentation supporting your efforts to timely file.
