CBP Apologizes for SRK Detention


"In reel life (read his blockbuster movie, My Name Is Khan), Shah Rukh Khan succeeds in convincing the 'US President-elect Barack Obama' that he's not a terrorist. But in real life, the picture isn't as rosy for the Bollywood superstar.  Shah Rukh, on his way to deliver a lecture at Yale University, was detained by immigration officials for nearly two hours on Thursday after landing in a private plane the White Plains Airport, 53 km from Manhattan. He was given the immigration clearance only after the intervention of the Indian Consulate General.  Immediately after the detention drama got over, the US customs and border protection authorities offered a letter expressing "profound apology" over the entire issue.
